I built a business.

I'm Alex Bunnett. Before StraEO, I spent 16 years building Naveya & Sloane, a fine jewellery house in Auckland. Before that, I was a software engineer working across R&D and NZ tech firms. I've always been drawn to building things — whether that's software, products, or teams.
We grew Naveya & Sloane fast — #4 on the Deloitte Fast 50, multiple Westpac Business Awards — and built a culture we were genuinely proud of. But I also learned the hard way. I worked with coaches, tried different frameworks, read the books, did the programs. Some of it was brilliant. A lot of it didn't stick. The real challenge was always the same: getting everyone aligned on what actually matters, staying focused long enough to do the right things well — and keeping my own focus in the right place day to day.
I don't believe AI or any system alone solves a business's challenges. The real power is a team deeply aligned on where you're going and why. A tool can't create that — but the right tool makes it visible, keeps it alive, and stops it quietly eroding. That's what StraEO is for.
